Unlike most illnesses, migraine is not diagnosed through a concrete medical test such as a series of blood, laboratory, or imaging tests. Rather, migraine is usually diagnosed based on specific diagnostic standards and the patient’s symptom history.
In general, a migraine headache has several symptoms including moderate or severe pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and/or sound, and an attack duration lasting anywhere from a few hours to 3 days (IHS, 2004).
