Population-based research studies have shown that employees affected by migraines miss an average of workdays per year. See Estimating the number of days lost for an explanation of how this was selected as a baseline for migraineurs.
The costs of absenteeism are directly related to replacement costs, which are dependent on average wages, benefits and fringes. For the industry and region you have selected: General industry and National region, the average daily wage is $ for men and $ for women. Benefits and fringes make up a significant portion of total compensation for employees. On average, they represent about % of total compensation for your industry.
The total compensation costs (including wages and benefits) will be used to calculate the effect of migraine-related lost workdays to you, the employer. If you would like to look only at the impact of wages in your workforce, simply change the average compensation to “zero”.
The model calculations will use the default values unless you replace them with more specific information about your workforce.
